COMEDY CONTEST
Welcome to the Queen Studios Comedy Contest!!
We are looking forward to seeing all the talent the Midwest has to offer!! We are currently wrapping up our first contest – a singing competition also being hosted at 1532 Social, the finals are January 28th if anyone wants to check it out! We are proud to have signed and put several amazing musicians to work already, can’t wait to see who wins the Grand Prize and gets to sing live on stage with Broadway stars.
And now we are ready to laugh!!! Looking for 2 Comedic Talents for speaking roles in a Feature Film with Queen Studios!!

Pre-lims will be held on February 12th, 19th, 26th March 5th, 12th, & 19th
Semis will be held on March 26th & April 2nd
Finals will be held on April 9th
All shows will be on Wednesdays at 7 pm at 1532 Social, located at:
1532 Bethel Rd, Columbus, OH 43220
Rules
1. All types of comedy are allowed which includes but is not limited to Stand Up, Magic, Musical, Improv, and Sketch. All material MUST be ORIGINAL.
2. Each show will start at 7 pm. Please arrive on time at 6:45 to meet and decide lineup.
3. Each performer will have up to 5 minutes. You will receive a light at 4 minutes and 30 seconds to let you know you have 30 seconds left to wrap it up. Please do not go over your time. There is no minimum.
4. Be respectful, supportive, and kind to each other. Yes, this is a competition, but it is also a community. Be polite, watch the show, cheer for each other.
5. Treat the venue and staff well.
6. Please DO NOT send promo materials until we request them.
7. Do not talk to the judges during the show. They are busy.
8. You MAY perform as a group, however only one individual can be chosen as the winner.
Judging and Advancing
There will be 2 Winners named who receive speaking roles in the film.
One winner will be selected based solely on craft, from Judge’s scoring alone.
One winner will be selected based on 50% Judge’s scoring and 50% Audience participation.
This is HUGE and has made a HUGE difference in the previous contest. BRING PEOPLE WITH YOU TO SUPPORT YOU. Please tell them ahead of time that it is $15 at the door, $10 online, so the venue doesn’t get any pushback from surprised patrons.
10 will advance from each prelim
15 will advance from each semi-final
2 Winners will be named at the Final.
*** The 5 Talents that sign with Queen Studios for Future Consideration will be selected by Kate personally at the events ***

If you have a preference on pre-lim date please mention in the "Notes" portion of the form and we will do our best to accommodate. We will start contacting people in February closer to the prelims. If you sent $25, we have you registered!
